We believed the industry when they sold themselves as "Enterprise-wide" products, only to discover after talking to their technical people that they were not enterprise-wide at all. The discovery concluded that all are limited by their system's architecture to a department level.

The key elements that puts us a "light year" ahead of our competition are:

• Our unique Uniform Subject Classification System (USCS) which provides both access and security throughout the entire enterprise. This is a MUST for implementing Knowledge Management.

We have faced a new market and new competition since 1985. As technology began its exponential swing upward, Infologics has paid the price of staying ahead of its then competition and entering new arenas.

The most important and complex component -- Records Management is a component essential in order to enable companies to comply with Federal and State legal retention requirements. 

When we joined AIIM's Document Management Alliance, we worked with its Technical Committee to assist in developing "standards" for the document management vendors. Since they are all "department" oriented as a result of their search/security structure, it makes it possible for any of the members meeting the standard the standard to function with each other over department walls. Our participation in the DMA resulted in our appreciation of NOT having the problems in our software they are trying to resolve, particularly in terms of maintenance.

Having the best doesn't necessarily mean we're understood. Our task has required the education (or the re-educating) on the way people view the management of documents and records. While many see the importance of having an electronic system to do this, most are not looking at enterprise-wide solutions, nor the vital necessity of Records Management that contains Retention Management functionality.
